This Fighting Blue Point Crabs Sculpture has exceptional, museum quality. Two brass crabs with patina finish on a marble base. Design valued by collectors and prominent interior designers throughout the world.
Each piece starts life as a clay sculpture, and is then cast in metal using the lost wax technique. This is the same method as used in casting fine jewelry. This results in unparalleled dimensional detail. The sculpture is then meticulously hand finished using the hot patina technique. The patina artists heat the brass surfaces with blow torches to upwards of 250 degrees. While the metal is hot, proprietary formulations of chemicals that react to the metal are applied using various techniques one layer at a time.
After several coats of hand waxing, the result is a vibrant, deep, layered finish with complex subtleties that no other finishish method can achieve. Because every piece is finished individually by hand, no two pieces are ever exactly alike. Making each one a unique piece of art . This finished scultpure is a truly handmade heirloom to be cherished for generations and admired by all.
