You're slumped in your favorite couch with your favorite drink—lemonade, slightly spiked—in hand. It feels cool, but not too cold. You're listening to the whistling wind enter and brush past you, rustling your hair, picking up when the waves crash. You look over at your nautical-themed glass and notice something you hadn't noticed before: it shines brilliantly in just one spot, right down there at the bottom of the cloudy light blue stem. Odd, you think, very odd that you hadn't noticed that until now. Why does it only sparkle in that one spot? You relax down further in your couch and consider how many other things you never notice, even though they're right under your nose. You take a sip, thinking that life can be funny like that sometimes: people don’t have the time to stop and notice the details on things. They’re too busy running through life, trying to get it all done before it’s time for bed. Or maybe they’re just too distracted by what seems more important. You gaze at the sea life on the other nautical glassware situated on the shelves around your sitting room, wondering if the artist lives near the ocean.
